COTM's online tool shows if an individual is registered to practise occupational therapy in Manitoba.
Anyone can verify the registration of:
- an occupational therapist on the Register of Practising Members
- a person on the Register of Provisional Members as an Examination Candidate

Under The Occupational Therapists Act and Regulation, we are required to have a register available to the public. Online public registers support the regulation of health professionals because this method:
- minimizes the risk of illegal practitioners fraudulently obtaining employment; and
- is a more accessible way to check a professional’s registration status.
COTM is required to maintain additional information about each member who is on a register as per The OT Act and Regulation. If you require additional information, such as more detail on a registration condition or discipline history, you can contact COTM.
Verification requests are processed in real-time based on information contained in our database. A short processing delay may occur between the time an individual applies for registration until approval is granted and the information is entered into the register. If you believe there are discrepancies between an occupational therapist’s online information and your records, please contact COTM immediately.
